It’s also traditionally one which cares about its environment; it’s protected by the heritage-listed Boulder Bank, a fascinating and striking geological oddity.
The economy is based on the 'big five' industries: seafood, horticulture, forestry, farming and tourism – we even have the biggest fishing port in Australasia! With more and more people wanting to move and make the most of Nelson’s fantastic weather, the region is growing steadily and we’ve seen a huge spike in the building and construction industry.

She is very passionate about her work and helping people reach their full potential. Outside of work Mel loves being at the beach with her family, where they own and run a real fruit ice cream and coffee cart!
