The Role

Heavy Diesel Mechanic working in a modern workshop servicing and repairing an exciting range of commercial civil and construction equipment. With the added bonus of managing and developing an apprentice.

Working 47.5 hours, Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm with the occasional call out.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy diesel engines and hydraulic systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair construction and earth-moving equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all machinery to ensure optimal performance
  • Keep detailed records of services and repairs performed
  • Adhere to safety standards and procedures at all times

Requirements:

  • NZ Diesel Mechanic qualification Level 4 OR min of 3 years' NZ heavy diesel working experience
  • Proven experience working with construction and earthmoving equipment is essential
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Previous experience with apprentices would be a bonus
