AWF are recruiting for a certified fitter / turner / welder to work as a Mechanical Engineering Technician at our clients land based plant to assist in mechanical engineering research, design, manufacture, construction, operation and maintenance of equipment & machines, manufacturing equipment, mechanical installations and facilities.

Please note, this site services Shellfish operation.

This is a full-time role, rostered, with a minimum of 40hrs each week.

You will work within a diverse and constantly changing operational environment providing day-to-day maintenance at our Blenheim plant with a mix of reactive and proactive maintenance.

What you will need:

  • To be a New Zealand Trade Certified Fitter / Turner / Welder, or Level 2
  • Minimum 4 years industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food production and/or relevant work experience and proven success in Preventative and Reactive maintenance
  • An eye for detail and identifying areas for improvement
  • Excellent time management, organisational skills and enthusiasm for getting it right
  • Impeccable communication
  • Proven Health and Safety practices as a daily priority
  • The right to work in New Zealand
  • The ability to pass our background checks including but not limited to Ministry of Justice Check, Drug and Alcohol Screening and reference checks.

    Advance knowledge in the following would be beneficial:
  • Project work, new installation, commission etc are all an advantage
  • Experience and/or qualifications with ammonia refrigeration and coal-fired boilers would also be advantageous
  • 5 years plus experience
