The Role

Note: Role is in Christchurch, which is in the South Island (not a suburb of Auckland)

Running a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machine to solder electronic components directly onto the surface of a printed circuit board (PCB).

Available shifts are:

• Morning shift Mon - Thur 7am to 3.30pm & Fri 6am to 2.30pm
• Afternoon shift: Mon - Thur 3.20pm to 11.50pm & Fri 2.20pm to 10.50pm

Key Responsibilities

• Setting up of SMT machines for production runs
• Applying soldering paste
• Control of stencils
• Fault diagnosis, minimising machine downtime
• SMT quality checking and record maintenance
• Working in a supportive team
• Adhere to safety standards and procedures at all times

Requirements:

• MUST have proven SMT experience
• Planning or able to moving to Christchurch
• Ability to evaluate facts and make decisions
• Sound knowledge of electrical theory and anti-static precautions
• Read and understand schematic diagrams and overlays
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficient in English, both oral and written

Must living in and be legally entitled to work in New Zealand - NZ / Aust Citizenship, NZ Permanent Residency or Open Visa. Please do not apply if you are not in New Zealand. Due to the payrate this role is not suitable for visa sponsorship.
